Devon Garden

The ambition here was to create a stunning planting scheme that would liven up a dull leyandii hedge that was sparse and ugly at the base. Using a range of shrubs and grasses a sinuous scheme was developed with a spine of fresh Griselinia hedge and fronted and punctuated with hebes, pinus mugo, heathers, phormiums and grasses.

Coastal House

We designed this property perched on a cliff edge in hostile coastal conditions in Devon. The sheltered parts of the garden allowed dramatic sub-tropical planting with bananas, tree ferns, echiums etc and in the more exposed areas we used coastal planting suited to beach conditions.

Wildlife Garden

We designed this garden set in a woodland glade with a pond and seating on a timber deck overhanging the water.

Wildlife Pond

We designed this wildlife pond with timber decking and pebble ‘beach’. The aquatic planting was complemented with luxuriant large leafed bog planting including gunneras, peltaphylum and rushes.

Dartmoor House 1

We designed a scheme for this Dartmoor house that responded to the wild context of the site echoing the Dartmoor boulders and vernacular styles with granite cobbles, sculptural form and clean, simple design

Wild garden with tree house

In this wild garden a tree house was created amongst a wild style garden full of grasses large and large leaved plants that give the garden an exotic feel. The tree house was constructed with natural, predominately untreated and unplaned, locally sourced douglas fir and larch that allow the tree house to nestle into its natural surroundings.

Broadhempston Community Land Trust Development

Innovative ecologically and socially aware scheme of self-build affordable housing. Greenearth landscape produced the plans for this scheme. Devon banks, wildflower meadow, woodland and orchard planting was included in this scheme in a sensitive location on the edge of Broadhempston in Devon.

Cornwall Services A30

Planting design for the first major service station/hotel complex in Cornwall. Using species suitable for this exposed moorland site. Extensive environmental mitigation measures were incorporated into the design, including native woodland planting, maintenance of hedgerows for dormice and drainage basins with wetland planting.

South Molton Business Park

New business park extension in North Devon. Greenearth Landscape has produced the detailed landscape design for Phase 1 of this new business park in South Molton, Devon as well as the concept plans for Phase 2. The design has involved extensive ecological mitigation including retaining the existing hedgerows, new native tree planting, wildflower meadow and the incorporation of SUDs basin and wetland habitat. Particular attention was made to screening the development from the nearby roads and AGLV landscape designation.

Exeter rural property

We were commisioned to design a planting scheme for an exposed new build rural property on a hillside near Exeter. We used extensive groundcover and structural planting that was in keeping with the exposed hillside with acidic soil using drifts of heathers, ornamental grasses and shrub planting,

Travelodge Poole

New waterfront hotel in Dorset. Greenearth Landscape produced the landscape design plan for this new contemporary styled Travelodge Hotel in Poole, Dorset. Creation of a dramatic planting theme using subtropical planting appropriate to the waterside location of this hotel.

We were asked to come up with ideas for a small garden in Totnes. We produced plans for a garden that would fulfill a range of needs for family life as well as creating a sunny green refuge in an urban setting

In order to gain planning permission we designed this scheme to allow the house to sit within its surrounding stunning riverside context. With naturalistic planting to set off and assimilate the built form.
